Alberta Gas Company are reportedly experimenting with Bitcoin mining. The mining would be powered by their trapped natural gas which would be too costly to sell on to the grid. Bitcoin mining has previously been noted as a solution for oil producers who often burn the natural gas byproduct or leak it directly into the atmosphere as an alternative. The news about the plans of Alberta Gas Company was revealed via a Tweet from Francis Pouliot (@francispouliot_).
