Bitmain may be seeking to raise $300 to $500 million in a US IPO share sale. The last venture capital fundraising round valued Bitmain at approximately $1.5 billion. Bloomberg reported on the matter based on comments from people close to the matter who wish to remain anonymous. The news comes amid recent increases in cryptocurrency prices with bitcoin rising above $10,000. Bitmain pursued an IPO on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange in 2018 but the plans fell through.
