Bitmain Report 14% Drop in SHA-256 Hash Rate Bitmain Hash Rate Disclosures Bitmain reported a decline in the amount of hash rate they have deployed on the Bitcoin networks in August. Bitmain’s latest hash rate disclosure on the 8th of August reported that 366.92 PH/s deployed on the SHA-256 mining algorithm. SHA-256 is the mining algorithm used by both the Bitcoin and Bitcoin Cash networks. The hash rate figure represents a 14% drop from the 426.38 PH/s reported on the 5th of July. The hash rate deployed on the BLAKE-256 mining algorithm, used by the Decred cryptocurrency, recorded the largest decline.
