Braiins Release Stratum v2 Prototype

In the recent MinerUpdate interview with Matt Corallo, the Bitcoin developer discussed working closely with SlushPool (Braiins) to implement a more secure mining protocol. At the Mining Disrupt conference, Braiins announced the mining protocol Stratum v2. The protocol will be cryptographically authenticated to prevent against hash rate hijacking, a key concern noted by Corallo. Miners who adopt the protocol will benefit from lower latency in block propagation. The protocol will also provide miners with the option to select which transactions go into a block, a role currently completed by pools.
