The median transaction fee on the Bitcoin network has been rising recently. But some users may be overpaying or getting transactions stuck in the mempool. There has been significant variability in the mempool size tracked by various nodes. At times, some nodes recorded over 100,000 transactions while others recorded less than 1,000. With the transaction fee estimation algorithms lagging the mempool, users may be overpaying or posting too low of a fee for their transaction to be quickly processed.
