A front-page article published in a state-owned newspaper in the Sichuan province of China has revealed that government authorities are investigating Bitcoin mining farms in the region. The farms being investigated have reportedly been constructed in the Garze county region of Sichuan province without prior approval. Garze county does not allow Bitcoin mining operations in the region. A committee has been formed to probe into the suspected operations.
