Trend Micro Detects Cryptocurrency Mining Botnet Malware Targeting Android Devices

Botnet malware has been discovered to be exploiting Android Debug Bridge (ADB) ports to mine cryptocurrencies. The malware, identified by cybersecurity research firm Trend Micro, can spread to any device that shared an SSH connection once installed. The attack takes advantage of ADB ports not requiring authentication. Increasing amounts of cryptojacking accounts have been observed over the past year with attackers continuously evolving their methods.
